Dear Moderator

Dear Moderator,
For my A2 coursework I have worked individually to construct a promotional package including a music video, magazine advertisement and digipack. I have chosen the song 'I Love It' by the swedish pop duo Icona Pop. To direct you around my blog efficiently I have placed tabs at the top of the page for each individual section which includes research, planning & construction, final products and evaluation, each of these pages will direct you to links of relevant posts.
I hope you enjoy my final products and can view my journey through these stages.

(Important message: When viewing my glogster posts which are mainly within research and planning, please use alternative browser than google chrome as it does not seem to work on their anymore. Works fine on internet explorer).

Practice Footage

This is practice footage i recorded in preparation for when i record my music video for real. I wanted to record my video at night and use powder paints along with neon glow-sticks and strobe lighting to create a upbeat 'party atmosphere'. When it came to trying out this idea, as you can see in the video below the two powder paint colours i used, only the red actually managed to make an impact and show up both in the shot and on my subjects clothes. Choosing a white t-shirt to conduct the footage in, let me see how well the paint showed up on clothing and how bright it was so i knew which colours worked and which didn't. So when it comes to recording my actual footage, costumes of my artists will be thought about and will be bright colours so that the powder paint shows up.
I actually used a blue powder paint but as you can see when watching the video which comes from the right hand side, the red is much more prominent and the blue looks more like dust and hardly shows up at all on both her clothing or face. The camera movement is shaky and you can see hands coming from the side but obviously when it came to real recording these would not be seen and footage would be a lot smoother.

The footage within the video below is the same clip but the second one has been reversed. This is a editing technique which i plan to use when it comes to editing my real music video footage. This reversal clip can be seen in the inspirational videos from 'K$sha - Take It Off' and 'Grimes - Vanessa'

Pre-testing my powder paints in a dark lighted environment has caused me to change the time of day in which i plan to film. The powder paints lose there colour and structure in the dark lighting, with certain colours looking better than others which is going to be a problem if only a couple of the powder paints i have actually look vibrant and have a effect as i think during the dark this is lost.

I now plan to film during the day for the use of the powder paint as from researching onto youtube and watching people mess around with powder paints in broad daylight, the vibrancy of the paints looks much better and the colours show up brighter on both their clothes and face and as they are thrown.
