Editing Software

To edit my footage this year we are using a new software, an updated version of Final Cut, Final Cut X (10). Previously for last years coursework, we used  Final Cut Express. It is a software which is on the macs which we use in media and offers a number of different features and effects that can be used to enhance footage. This software also enables high quality visual filters, such as mirroring images/clips, blurring, contrast/brightness etc. 

A good feature which is new to the Final Cut X is that clips do not need to be rendered each time they are edited, which makes things a lot easier and less time consuming which means i will be able to get much more done. There are much more transitions and effects which can be used on clips to enhance certain aspects, there are more of a variety than there was last year. 
Having previous experience using Final Cut, im hoping that it will be an easy transition to Final Cut Pro X and i can improve my editing skills using this new software.
